Movie Recommendation: The Forty-First (1956)/ Soviet Union Director: Grigoriy Chukhray During the Russian Civil war, a White army officer carrying a national secret is captured by the Red army in a desert. A woman sniper from the red army who is tasked to look after the prisoner falls in love with him. This is easily one of the most picturesque movies ever made. I wouldn't be surprised if David Lean had seen this movie before he made his magnum opus, "Lawrence of Arabia" (1962). I recommend it highly. I hope my edit of the movie convinces you to watch it if you already haven't.
