Jimi Hendrix's final concert almost didn't happen. On this day in 1970, the Love & Peace Festival in Germany had descended into chaos: rain, biker violence, acts cancelling and when he finally took the stage, the cold, fed-up crowd booed him. His response: “I don't give a f*** if you boo, as long as you boo in key.” Then he hit them with “Killing Floor” and won them over. Twelve days later, he was gone.
